Former England captain Andrew Flintoff has been admitted to hospital following a horrific car crash in Surrey while filming an episode of the BBC TV show.

“Freddie (Flintoff) was injured in an accident top Gear test track this morning – with crew medics attending the scene immediately,” the BBC said in a statement.

Injuries ‘not life threatening’

“He has been taken to the hospital for further treatment and we will confirm further details in due course.” According to Sun, Flintoff’s injuries are not “life-threatening” and he was “driving normally on the track” and was not speeding.

The Sun quoted a source as saying, “All the usual health and safety measures were put in place for filming as well.”

“Freddie was taken to the hospital a short time later by air ambulance.

“Filming has been suspended for now and everyone’s concern is that Freddy is recovering.” His co-star Chris Harris was also top Gear test track.

Three years earlier, Flintoff had narrowly escaped a 125 mph crash while filming another episode of Top Gear.

Flintoff, who retired from international cricket in 2009, played 79 Tests and 141 limited overs internationals for England.
